I’ve started daily tweets to promote my movie work. Very green when it comes to twitter. Any tips for Twitter newbies?
- Tweet each post multiple times – he does it 4 times every 36 hours since timing is really important with Twitter.
- Link to interesting content, not just your movie. For instance, you might highlight the actors, the setting, elements from the storyline, etc. You want to give folks a backstage feeling for what’s going on (it makes them more involved and more interested in seeing the final product.
- You can even intersperse personal elements in your tweets or general stuff about moviemaking, etc. The goal is to get folks to click your link and RT — so give them something ReTweetable.
- The second aspect of a successful Twitter campaign is to get get followers. Some of the same strategies work for getting followers but you also have to follow to encourage followers. I hope this helps. Let me know if you want more specifics.

Lorene Joynson Does anyone have any experience with QR codes in advertising? If so, what were the results?
Angela Hausman We used QR codes with the Alexandria Symphony. I’m not sure what their results looked like because they did it wrong. You need to set up a specific landing page as to target for your QR code. Not only does that allow you to track success and determine ROI, it converts better.
