SEO Ranking for Digital Divide
Steve Wiideman Someone give me a phrase they would like to rank for and the page they would like ranked and I’ll give you some suggestions.
Cherie Tripp Lejeune Steve: digital divide
Steve Wiideman Thanks Cherie, which page on your website do you image would be the one to appear in the results?
Cherie Tripp Lejeune First..if I understand your question. You see I don’t know if you have a big inventory of words/phrases you build in or …..or shape after you write your copy
If you have a page, or at least a domain to look at, I might be better able to help you source why you aren’t getting the ranking or search saturation you’re looking for with “digital divide”. 🙂
Cherie Tripp Lejeune actually digiboom (my blog) and digital divide popped up top of the queue on Google, so I think that worked, didn’t really think about it, I know bad. I have a blog within a product that is not mine but it appears they are doing a great job of tagging!
Free WordPress Blog Holding You Back?
Martha Maria By the way, Steve, I have a new website, which was largely due to your critique of MarMelodian. I remember you had trouble with the name. New name: Dogwood Daughter. Also, music turned off. And a cleaner looking website. Do you want to take a look and tell me if it looks better to you? I’m going to advertise on FB soon, when I think the new site is ready. Thank you.www.dogwooddaughter.com
Angela Hausman Martha Maria I like the new website, but it feels a little busy and is harder to read with the background. I’m guessing this will be a static website rather than a blog. Why not make it more of an ecommerce site? Also, I’m not sure if this works, but I might create a page for different songs or maybe different genres and use some images to punch them up.
Martha Maria Thanks for your input, Angela. I will experiment. May go back to the old format, but with new name and content. I’m limited as to number of pages with the web host. Cherie has mentioned WordPress to me. Am TRYING to learn how to do that….and it’s hard for me. I’m not very technical and it’s a struggle. I shall e-mail you in a bit about the person I’m thinking of.
Importance of Target Marketing in Social Media
Lorene Joynson What are the best ways to increase membership in an organization through social media? Perhaps phone apps? Appreciate your thoughts..
Angela Hausman I think it matters who your target market is and the type of organization. I’ve found a Facebook group works well so that messages get shared in social spaces.
Lorene Joynson That’s great Angela. Thanks! Any other thoughts…
Angela Hausman Again, it really depends on your target audience. Younger audiences have nearly abandoned Facebook in favor of Twitter, while business folks connect better through LinkedIN and local groups can do better with a location based service such as Facebook Places.
Tynt to Protect You Online Intellectual Property
Angela Hausman Steve Wiideman, I found out about the # at the end of my URL. It comes from Tynt, which is a tool that inserts the post URL when anyone copies more than 15 words from one of my posts. I can get rid of it if you think it damages my SEO, but it does bring visitors and ensures I’m cited when people cut and paste my work.
Steve Wiideman Hi Angela, the # won’t hurt your SEO, but making sure you have a canonical URL on your pages might be an added safety measure. Tynt sounds very interesting; do they charge for the tool?
Cherie Tripp Lejeune you two have lost me and I will bet a few others. TYNT is a URL tracking mechanism? Canonical URL’s?? Not biology for sure….examples??? HELP
My Wacky Life After 40
Angela Hausman OK, for those I’ve not met before, I’m Angela Hausman and I run Ask a Marketing Expert every Friday, but this is really YOURS. I just set up the space and encourage you to come into it, ask questions, and help each other become better Marketers. I’m a Marketing Professor at Howard University in DC, Assoc. Editor for the European Journal of Marketing, and Technorati writer. I also run My Wacky Life After 40 (please LIKE me and visit my website) and Let’s Blog for Money to help small businesses develop a web presence.
Martha Maria Also, Angela, I went to your Wacky life site. You’ve worked super hard! I’d like to message you, privately, about someone who might be a contributor to your site….not me, someone else I know. I’ll tell you more privately. MM
Angela Hausman Thanks. I’d love to have this be more interactive and have more voices on the site. Also, as I’ve just been invited to write for Technorati, and posted my first 2 stories, I’m busier than I had hoped, which is slowing down content creation.
