Ask a Marketing Expert was poorly attended this week — I’m not sure if it was the great weather or me being out of town and not contributing, but we had several visitors asking questions and NO experts there to help them out. I’m posting the questions here in the hope someone will provide the answers. I’ll also re-post the questions in next week’s version of Ask a Marketing Expert to see if we can help these folks out.
Facebook Sponsored Stories
Marketing That Works
Facebook “Sponsored Stories” – According to Bloomberg, Facebook is planning to collect unsolicited endorsements from Facebook users and then charge coporations to run these endorsements as advertising called “Sponsored Stories.” Without considering the privacy and ethical concerns of this action, what effect do you believe this adulturation of “Word of Mouth” influence is going to have on a product, brand or company? How do you think consumers will react to the hi-jacking of their sentiment? How do you think that this will affect the reputation and valuation of Facebook. Most importantly, do you believe that Facebook should use this “marketing vehicle?” Yes or No.
Learning Music Marketing
What is the best way I can study the psychology of music marketing? I was thinking of doing industrial psyh and taking some music classes?
Unfortunately, that was it for this week’s Ask a Marketing Expert. Join us every Friday from 12-3 (EST) at the EVENTS link on Facebook. Remember,
its FUN … its FREE … its FRIDAY.
Wonderful article! We will be linking to this great article on our website.
Keep up the great writing.
Thanks.
Though the source and veracity of this letter are unknown, it’s a thought provoking (and funny) point of view about crowdsourcing and the like.
